Being from the DMV (D.C., MD, VA) area, there has always been this sense of protest within me. So when I had to consider what my final project would focus on, I kept in mind that I wanted to tell a story with a message.

After writing a smaller piece centered on the historical background of the hoodie in spring 2023 during my junior year, I felt a need to continue the conversation.

This project is for fellow members of the black community. It stands as a confirmation that black bodies are unable to wear anything without being criticized.
